Frederick County Public Schools announces the names of the eight support employees recognized in the 2017 Support Employees of the Year program for outstanding achievement in their categories. They are Cindi Andrews, School-Based Secretary of the Year, from Kemptown Elementary; Mary Beth Fisher, Food Service Employee of the Year, from Middletown Primary; Karen King, Central Office Secretary of the Year, from the Facilities Planning Department; Dana Lichtenberger, User Support Specialist of the Year, from Brunswick Middle; Erik McKay, Central Office Maintenance Employee of the Year, from the Maintenance Department; Paula Oden, Business Support Employee of the Year, lead research technician from the System Accountability and School Improvement Department; Donna Toms, Bus Assistant of the Year; and Robert Welsh, School-Based Custodian of the Year, from Emmitsburg Elementary.
From this group of eight, one school-based and one central office Support Employee of the Year will be announced at the June 14 Board of Education meeting when the group is honored. The two overall winners will each receive a cash award, a personal day off, special trophy and Board of Education pin. All category winners will receive trophies and certificates.
