Leaving no cost-savings unmined, Frederick County Public Schools’ warehouse staff continues to use GovDeals, an online auctioning service to auction surplus and obsolete equipment. A variety of items including exercise and food service equipment such as refrigerators and stoves, science lab cabinets, art tables, kilns and other items from the old Frederick High School, which is being demolished, are for sale.
“In addition to raising funds for education, FCPS is heeding limited environmental resources. It is important that we practice what we teach and recycle equipment that someone can reuse. I hope many will go online to benefit education in our community,” says Roy McHaffa, FCPS Warehouse manager.
“FCPS schools and offices have already requested about 85% of the items from the FHS surplus list that the school system distributed to staff in May,” adds McHaffa, “putting them to good use. We are storing some for future use.”
To find the remaining FCPS items listed for sale at www.Govdeals.com, use the site’s “classic search” feature, then under Seller Name, select Frederick County Public Schools, MD, then click Search to see the entire inventory. FCPS is still adding items to the site, so please check for updates.
