The Board of Education of Frederick County has used a software product called BoardDocs to post its meeting agendas and related documents online for easy public access since 2003. Saving time and the expense of producing voluminous packets of paper for each meeting, the software has provided a paperless solution and improved public, BOE and Frederick County Public Schools’ community access to BOE information.
BoardDocs is upgrading its website with new features and a new look which the company expects to release on Saturday, September 23. According to BoardDocs the site will have a freshened look and improved layout to provide simplified access to important documents, enhanced search and navigation features, and improved user experience on handheld and touch-screen devices.
More than 6,000 individuals subscribe via FindOutFirst to receive emails that provide links to information posted on BoardDocs for each BOE meeting. Anyone may sign up for this information at www.fcps.org/fof. Those who already have FindOutFirst accounts and want to add notices about BOE action to their subscriptions should log in to select that news group rather than starting a new account. Information sent via FindOutFirst as well as information posted at www.fcps.org will begin linking to the new BoardDocs software as soon as the new website is launched.
