FOR SPEAKERS OF OTHER LANGUAGES (ESOL)
| Orientation: |
Students
MUSTattend an Orientation session for testing and placement into
the correct
class. FREE Orientation sessions are held every Tuesday evening
when Frederick County Schools are in session at 5:00 p.m. at Governor
Thomas Johnson Middle School. Another Orientation session is held
the first Friday of each month (beginning in October) at 9:00 a.m.
in Rm. 137B at the Business and Employment Center at 5340 Spectrum
Drive .
No pre-registration is necessary for an Orientation session. |

levels are FREE except Advanced, which costs $120.00 for 60
hours of instruction. |

Class
Descriptions
We offer many different levels of instruction: Literacy,
Beginning, Advanced Beginning, Intermediate,
Advanced Intermediate, and Advanced.
Classes are held at Rock Creek School (evenings and Saturday),
Business and Employment Center (daytime), Hillcrest Elementary School
(evenings), Parkway Community Church (evenings), Community Action Agency
Youth Center (daytime), Fort Detrick (daytime), and Governor Thomas
Johnson Middle School (evenings).
General
Policies and Procedures
- New students, who are at least 16 years old, are always welcome,
but
ALL STUDENTS MUST FIRST ATTEND ORIENTATION!!!
- Please be on time for classes. The outside doors will be locked
at 30 minutes after classes begin. After that time, you won't be able
to enter the building.
- Please DO NOT bring children to any classes except the classes
at Rock Creek. Babysitting services are not available at any site except
Rock Creek.
- Please turn all cell phones, pagers, and beepers to vibrate
mode before class begins.
- Eating, drinking, and smoking are NOT permitted in the buildings.
- If you have any questions, contact the Adult Education Office
