Fun Academics in the Summer Time (FAST)

Fun Academics in the Summer Time (FAST) is a summer program that provides students with academic instruction as well as engaging enrichment opportunities designed to complement the regular school year.

FAST is free to eligible to students and families at Monocacy ES and Monocacy MS. Participation is based on academic need in reading/language arts and/or math as well as regular attendance when program is offered.

To determine if your family is eligible for services offered at FAST, please contact the schools.

Partners: FAST collaborates with the following community-based partners to provide enrichment clubs at each school site:

Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
When: Monday through Thursday (contact school for schedule)
Where: Monocacy ES and Monocacy MS

Typical day at Fun Academics in the Summer Time (FAST):

  • 8:30 a.m. - Students arrive; breakfast provided
  • 9 to 12 - Academic Instruction
  • 12 to 1 - Lunch provided; camp meeting/recess
  • 1 to 4:30 - Enrichment Clubs
  • 4:30 p.m. - Students dismissed

Fun Academics in the Summer Time (FAST) is a 21st Century Community Learning Center funded by a grant through the Maryland State Department of Education.
