Frederick Community Learning Centers  

The Frederick Community Learning Centers (FCLC) is an afterschool program that provides students with academic enrichment opportunities as well as additional services designed to complement their regular academic program.


The FCLC is free to eligible students and families at Hillcrest, Lincoln, and Waverley elementary schools. To find out if your child is eligible for services at a FCLC site, please contact the principal at your child's school.

Partners - The Frederick Community Learning Centers collaborate with the following partners to provide youth enrichment activities at each school site:

Hours:  3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
When:  Monday through Thursday (contact school for schedule)
Where:  Hillcrest, Waverley and Lincoln Elementary Schools 

Typical day at the Frederick Community Learning Centers

  • 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. – Academic Instruction
  • 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – Youth Enrichment Activities
  • 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. - Homework Time

Evenings – Throughout the school year, each school provides family involvement opportunities to help families support their child’s education.

The Frederick Community Learning Centers (FCLC) is a 21st Century Community Learning Center funded by a grant through the Maryland State Department of Education.
