As Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) moves forward to implement the new Common Core Curriculum, a committee of parents, teachers and administrators is working to develop a new elementary school report card format.
FCPS asks parents, families and community members to share ideas about what schools should include in the new report card. What are the most meaningful and useful features of a report card? How do parents use the report card to identify a child’s strengths and weaknesses? How can FCPS enhance the report card to improve communication between parents and teachers? Please email your comments to email@example.com. If you have a child in an FCPS school, please include the grade level.
FCPS invites the public to attend the committee’s meetings. Those scheduled are Wednesday, March 13 and Thursday, April 11. Both are from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at the FCPS Staff Development Center, 44 W. Frederick Street. Walkersville, MD. The format will permit time at various points throughout the day to address questions and explain the work being done.
FCPS also invites the public to view a draft of the new report card on Tuesday, April 16, 7-8 p.m., at the Staff Development Center.
