FindOutFirst Information

FindOutFirst is the FCPS email and emergency-closing text messaging service.

Starting in the 2018-2019 school year, all parent/guardian email addresses as well as the student's school and grade level are automatically uploaded to FindOutFirst (FOF) using the email address provided to the school at enrollment time or updated via the Returning Student Registration Form the parent completes at the beginning of each school year. To continue receiving FOF email, parents must notify the school of any changes in email address during the school year.

To get phone-text messaging, sent only when schools are unexpectedly closing, parents (and others) must log in to FOF and enter the related information. Phone numbers/carriers entered prior to August 1, 2018 must be re-entered for the new school year at www.fcps.org/fof.

In addition to school and grade level-news, parents (and others) may log in to FOF to select district-level news to get email based on their interests, ranging from BOE action to news releases, calendar updates, job openings and more: www.fcps.org/fof

For students, staff and community members wishing to get FOF news:

  • High school student FCPS-assigned email addresses with school and grade-level associations are uploaded to FOF, starting in the 2018-2019 school year.
  • FCPS employee work email addresses and work location(s) are uploaded to Employee News and FOF.
  • FCPS welcomes community members to subscribe to FOF at www.fcps.org/fof.

Although FOF delivers most routine FCPS news before other media, email is not fastest in an emergency. FCPS also posts emergency notices at www.fcps.org and via Facebook at FCPSMaryland and Twitter @FCPSMaryland, broadcasts bulletins on Comcast TV Channel 18 and sends news to many radio and TV stations.

FCPS is committed to providing the school news our community needs.
