Franceschina Promoted to Principal at Frederick High

Frederick County Public Schools announces the promotion of David Franceschina to Frederick High School principal from Urbana High School assistant principal, upon the retirement of Kathy Campagnoli at the end of this school year. No stranger to Frederick High School, Franceschina was acting principal there for the 2016-2017 school year when Campagnoli was on special assignment preparing to open the new Frederick High School building and developing the Linking Youth to New eXperiences, or LYNX, program at the school. In addition, he was acting principal at Urbana High the first semester of this school year while David Kehne was on sabbatical.

Franceschina began his teaching career in 2002 as a music/science teacher at Heather Ridge School. From 2003 to 2010, he taught music at Walkersville High, Middletown Middle and Tuscarora High, respectively. He was promoted to assistant principal at Linganore High School in 2010, and from 2013 to 2016 was an assistant principal at Frederick High.

Franceschina earned his bachelor’s degree in music education from Shepherd University in 2002 and Master of Arts degree in educational leadership from the University of Phoenix in 2007. He is pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Frostburg University.
