FCPS Scores Outpace State and Nation

Frederick County Public Schools’ graduating senior scores outpace Maryland and the nation on the 2018 SAT exam. Frederick County’s combined score is 1149--83 points higher than Maryland’s score of 1066 and 100 points higher than the nation’s score of 1049.

Frederick County’s evidenced-based reading/writing score at 573 is 10 points higher than the previous year. The FCPS score is 35 points higher than Maryland’s score of 538 and 44 points higher than the nation’s score of 529.

Frederick County’s math score at 576 is 13 points higher than the previous year. The FCPS score is 48 points higher than Maryland’s score of 528 and 56 points higher than the nation’s score of 520.

There were 142 more test takers in 2018 than in the prior year, with participation up from 63% to 64%. FCPS began to administer the SAT to all juniors last year, and their participation will be reported in 2019.
