The Daily Record has selected Frederick County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Terry Alban to receive the 2019 Influential Marylander award. Dr. Alban has received numerous honors and recognitions during her tenure as superintendent. In 2017, she was named Maryland Superintendent of the Year by the Public School Superintendents’ Association of Maryland. Being recognized as an Influential Marylander acknowledges Dr. Alban’s innovative leadership of our diverse and dynamic school system and her role as a leader in education.
Fifty-three Influential Marylanders were selected by the editors of The Daily Record for their significant contributions to their respective fields and for their leadership in Maryland in the several areas including civic leadership and education.
The Daily Record launched Influential Marylanders in 2007 to recognize those who are leaving a mark on the community throughout the state.
“Influential Marylanders shape and enrich the communities in which they live and work. They know how to get things done," said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. "They demonstrate their influence in the community every day. The Daily Record is pleased to call them Influential Marylanders."
The 2019 Influential Marylanders awards will be presented March 28 at a reception. Winners will be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the March 29 issue of The Daily Record and will be available online at www.TheDailyRecord.com.
