The Board of Education of Frederick County announces vacancies on its Family Life Advisory Committee.
Representatives to serve two-year terms are needed from the Brunswick, Catoctin, Frederick, Gov. Thomas Johnson and Walkersville "feeder" areas. A feeder area includes the high school and the middle and elementary schools from which students will ultimately attend, or "feed into," it.
The committee meets about five times a year and examines all instructional materials proposed for use in the Family Life and HIV and AIDS-prevention units and makes recommendations to the BOE. It also consults with the educators charged with developing, implementing and evaluating the program. For an application, please visit www.fcps.org/committees.
