March Is Youth Art Month

The Frederick County Public Schools’ All-County Student Art Exhibit will open at the Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center on Friday, March 6. Free to the public, the student exhibit will feature more than 300 imaginative two- and three-dimensional creations by students from each public school.

In addition, the Center calls for submissions to salute the FCPS educators who make Youth Art Month possible, inviting teachers to showcase a work of art for a display that will coincide with the students’ exhibit. Be sure to look for both exhibits when you visit.

The opening reception is Saturday, March 7 from 3-5 p.m. The exhibits will remain open through Sunday, March 29 during the Center’s usual hours, 9-5 Mondays-Saturdays and 11-5 Sundays.

The Delaplaine Visual Arts Education Center is at 40 S. Carroll Street in downtown Frederick. The gallery is also open some evening hours when the Center offers classes; for the evening schedule, please call 301-698-0656 or visit www.delaplaine.org.
