BOE Extends Deadline for Investment Committee Applications from FCPS Retirees

The Board of Education of Frederick County has extended the deadline for applications for a Frederick County Public Schools retiree to fill the vacancy announced last month on its Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) Trust Fund Investment Committee. The Investment Committee term for an FCPS retiree begins July 1, 2020, with the application deadline extended to Wednesday June 10, 2020. Member terms are staggered and last two years. 

The committee’s purpose is to manage the investment of funds in the FCPS employees’ OPEB trust fund. The committee hires an outside professional investment manager to assist in this process. The committee is responsible for ensuring the funds are invested in accordance with the BOE Investment Policy. 

Members are expected to attend quarterly scheduled meetings, which typically occur during the day at the FCPS Central Office or by teleconference. The committee may also schedule other ad-hoc meetings throughout the year, as needed.
