Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) recently signed a partnership agreement with Player’s Fitness and Performance (PFP), a training facility for student athletes.
For several years PFP has awarded scholarships to at least one male and one female FCPS student athletes to allow them to train with the company’s professional staff. The partnership ensures that PFP will continue the scholarships and will also work with health and physical education teachers on curriculum development and strength training. In addition, PFP will provide opportunities for FCPS staff to obtain educational resources and present information to teachers at professional development opportunities and to offer students opportunities to learn about fitness.
“I’m glad we formalized the partnership with Player’s Fitness,” says FCPS Curriculum Specialist for Secondary Health and Physical Education Brian Griffith. “PFP has supported our students and teachers for several years, and it makes sense to have a formal agreement. Fitness and health are vital aspects of our students’ school experiences, and we appreciate the ways that PFP’s support will encourage lifestyle choices that help students reach their goals.”
Businesses interested in partnering with the school system beyond offering staff discounts are encouraged to contact FCPS Business Partnerships Coordinator Mindy Bankey, 301-644-5013, firstname.lastname@example.org. Those who wish to offer staff discounts should contact email@example.com.
