Tuscarora High, Middletown High Earn Top Honors at State Marching Band Championships
Tuscarora High and Middletown High earned overall state titles at the Maryland Marching Band Association State Championships held Saturday, November 1, at Towson University.
Tuscarora High, under the direction of Amanda Eddleman, earned top honors in the Open Category for their performance of Icarus. Tuscarora also earned specialty awards for Music Performance and Color Guard. This is the second consecutive year Tuscarora earned an overall state championship.
Middletown High, under the direction of Matthew Shearer, won the 1A category for their dynamic Top Gun show. Middletown also specialty awards for Color Guard and Visual Performance.
Gov. Thomas Johnson High earned top percussion honors in the open category.

Overall, Urbana High placed third, Gov. Thomas Johnson High placed fourth, Linganore High placed seventh, and Oakdale High placed eighth.

Frederick High placed seventh in the category.

Walkersville High placed third and Brunswick High placed 11th.
