Episode 32

Guests: Urbana High acting principal Michael Chavez, Urbana High athletic director Ryan Hines and Frederick News-Post high school sports writer Greg Swatek.
Synopsis: Urbana High won the inaugural Principals Cup trophy, which is awarded to the FCPS CMC athletic department with the top composite score for success and sportsmanship in all sports. To learn more about the Principals Cup, visit our information page.

Synopsis: Walkersville won the inaugural Central Maryland Conference baseball championship. Check out what Zac and David had to say about Walkersville's successful season.

Episode 30

Guests: Urbana High's Samuel Safdari and Walkersville High's Julie Wallace
Synopsis: Introducing the boys and girls Central Maryland Conference individual champions. Samuel advanced into the state tennis semifinals and had a terrific season. Julie became the first Walkersville singles player to win the county girls title in 38 years. She is a freshman. This interview was filmed on location.

Synopsis: The Central Maryland Conference champions Linganore and Oakdale come in for a CMC Spotlight visit. Linganore also won the second state championship in school history. Oakdale advanced to the state championship game. Terrific seasons for both programs.

Synopsis: 26 episodes. More than 50 guests. Every high school represented. The TV/Multimedia Production students at the FCPS Career & Technology Center made this inaugural CMC Spotlight season a success. We can't thank them enough for their hard work promoting athletic achievements from throughout the county. Be sure to watch the end credits, where everyone involved gets recognized.

Synopsis: Harding and Wanger are leaders on the Brunswick High baseball team. The Railroaders are the defending Class 1A state champions. Hear more about how their current season is going.

Synopsis: The Frederick High girls basketball team won the Class 3A West region championship. The Middletown High boys basketball team won the Class 2A West region championship. Hear more about the excellent playoff runs from leaders on both teams.

Guests Part II: Urbana High basketball players Kendall Bresee and Regan Lohr
Synopsis: Linganore and Urbana were the inaugural Central Maryland Conference basketball champions following title games held at Hood College. Lohr scored the first point ever in a CMC championship game.

Guests: Frederick High cross country coaches Rob Nutter and Frank Strakonsky
Synopsis: After the Haunted Horseman 5k race, Rob Nutter went into cardiac arrest. The quick thinking of his fellow cross country coach and concerned bystanders helped save his life. Powerful episode.

Guest: FCPS Superintendent Dr. Terry Alban
Synopsis: Dr. Alban discusses her favorite NFL football team (hint: It's the Ravens), and she also shares the high school sporting events she most enjoys attending.

Guests: Oakdale High's Ryan Shubert and Kyle McDonald and Middletown High's Will Davis and Danny Bertoni
Synopsis: It was a great year for wrestling in the CMC. The Middletown Knights won the first wrestling duals state championship in school history. Hear from some of the leaders of these outstanding programs.

Synopsis: Stephenson and Lewis became the first champions in the new Central Maryland Conference last week. They led the Hawks to the CMC title. Hear more about how they got interested in golf and discover how Lewis earned a hole-in-one at the county championships.

Synopsis: McGaughey has led the Oakdale Bears to a 5-0 record. An aspiring civil engineer, McGaughey discusses how he balances school, Career & Tech and athletic commitments. He even stays after football practices to get extra workouts in.

Synopsis: Part II of this interview discusses the significance of showing excellent sportsmanship at Central Maryland Conference events. Poor sportsmanship could hurt high school athletic programs in the new Principals Cup, which will be distributed to the most successful athletic program in the CMC in the spring.
