» A contract for employee health and well-being classes was approved as part of the overall Employee Wellness Program.

» The BOE approved an easement for the Forest Resource Ordinance for Elementary School #41.

» Policy 446, Student Suicide Prevention, was approved for publication.

» The BOE approved the 2025 Educational Facilities Master Plan (EFMP) and proposed FY 2027 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP).  

» Staff provided an update regarding Middle School Schedule considerations based upon evolving state requirements. A workgroup will be created for further considerations.     

» Staff provided a Special Education update regarding the new IEP and 504 platform - EdPlan MD that will launch in the 2025-2026 school year.

» Staff presented a preview of the FY 2026 budgets for the Capital, Food and Nutrition Services, Self-Insurance Fund and Artificial Turf Funds.

» Staff presented an update regarding the FY26 FCPS operating budget. The BOE approved several motions to reduce the budget gap including the elimination of Young Scholars summer camp, decreasing funding for lunch monitors, central office non-salary reductions, eliminating a Network Administrator I position, instituting value based pricing for the School Cash Online system, and a one-time reduction in state pension administration fees. There remains a $148,557 budget gap that must be closed by June 30, 2025.
