» Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) was awarded a $94,604 grant from the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) to fund professional learning.

» The BOE approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the Elementary School #41 Project at a total of $67,078,738 ($654.20/GSF).
» Staff provided a Special Education staffing update and shared information regarding Extended School Year Programming (ESY).
» Staff presented an update regarding the FY26 FCPS operating budget. The BOE approved several motions to reduce the budget gap including the elimination of central office positions, a reduction in summer curriculum workshops, an deferral of the allocation for textbook replacement, and maintaining the current rate for athletic fees and use of facilities fees. There remains a $2.4 million dollar budget gap that must be closed by June 30, 2025.
