» The BOE recognized eight category Support Employee winners and the overall Support Employee of the Year.
» The Maryland State Interagency Commission on School Construction presented to the BOE.
» Staff presented an update on personal mobile devices including perspectives and experiences from middle and high school. Recent Maryland legislation requires all BOEs to develop and implement policies prohibiting student use of electronic communication devices during the academic school day. The board asked for changes to be implemented starting the 2026-2027 school year.
» Policy 412, Partnerships and Policy 413, Parent, Family, and Community Engagement were approved for publication. Policy 426, Fundraising, Donations, and Gifts, was presented for a first reading and will return to the BOE for a second reading in a future work session.
» The BOE received an update regarding the Fiscal Year 2027 operating budget.
