Who will attend the Butterfly Ridge Elementary School?

As the new school is being built to alleviate overcrowding at Hillcrest Elementary and balance enrollment at other surrounding elementary schools, a redistricting of attendance areas will need to be undertaken. A portion from Hillcrest, Orchard Grove and Waverley elementary schools will be redistricted. The redistricting study will be initiated in the fall of 2015 and will be completed in the fall of 2016.

Will the construction of this new elementary school eliminate the need for an addition to Waverley Elementary School?

No. An addition to Waverley Elementary is still included in the FCPS Capital Improvement Plan to be built in 2018/2019.
