FCPS International Office
International and/or multilingual families who need assistance with the online system for enrollment, please contact the International Office 227-203-3980 or 227-203-3984.
The FCPS Multilingual Education Program assists in pre-enrolling students who:
- Are new immigrants or international students that use a language other than English
- Have international transcripts that need to be evaluated for FCPS high school credits
As part of the pre-enrollment process, the International Office will administer an English language screening test to determine your child's level of English proficiency.
Information about the English language proficiency screener used in Maryland public schools can be found on the WIDA Screener website?
At the International Office, FCPS staff will review required student enrollment documents, forms and transcripts as well as provide information about FCPS programming and supports for ML students. A list of forms required for all students enrolling in FCPS can be found on the FCPS Enrollment website.
Note: Information about education for Multilingual Learners in Maryland can be found on the Maryland State Department of Education Multilingual Education Program website.
The FCPS International Office is located inside Waverley Elementary School. Please use Door #2 to enter.
Foreign Exchange Students
Frederick County Public Schools value the benefits of welcoming foreign exchange students through the Council on Standards for International Educational Travel (CSIET), as these experiences contribute to the diversity of our classrooms and schools.
Please see FCPS Regulation 400-74: Enrollment of Foreign Exchange Students for program details.
