Sustainability at Frederick County Public Schools
Frederick County Public Schools values sustainability and encourages environmental awareness among its students and staff. In support of FCPS' strategic goals, we design sustainability practices to optimize resource use, enhance safety and well-being, and improve operational efficiency across our facilities. Our initiatives include conserving energy, maintaining clean air, reducing waste, and protecting water quality — efforts that support both fiscal responsibility and the overall well-being of our school community. Through environmental literacy programs and student engagement opportunities, we cultivate an understanding of environmental stewardship, empowering students with skills and perspectives relevant to their future roles as responsible citizens within our community and beyond.
