Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) welcomes elected and local officials and values your partnership in supporting our students and staff. We appreciate your interest in visiting schools, attending events, and learning about our programs.
To ensure visits are effective and school operations continue without disruption, all requests should be coordinated through the FCPS Public Affairs Department. Public Affairs works with school and district leadership to schedule visits, connect you with the right staff, and provide information about our programs and initiatives.
Why coordination matters:
- Ensures consistent communication across the district
- Minimizes disruption to instruction and school operations
- Connects you with the appropriate school or staff based on your request
- Provides accurate and timely information
How to Request a Visit or Meeting:
Please submit your request at least 5–7 business days in advance, including:
- Your name, organization, and role
- Purpose of the visit or meeting
- Preferred school, program, or staff
- Proposed date and time
- Names of additional visitors
- Whether photography, video, or interviews will be involved
Requests may be submitted to: [email protected]
Visit Guidelines:
- Instructional time will not be disrupted
- Student privacy laws, including FERPA, must be followed
- Photography, video, or interviews with students require proper permissions
- School administrators or central staff will accompany visitors on campus
This process ensures visits are productive, accurate, and allow schools to maintain their focus on teaching and learning.
