Thursday, March 12, 2020

FCPS is following State Superintendent Dr. Karen B. Salmon's directive to close all Maryland schools Monday, March 16-Friday, March 27, 2020.

The purpose of closing schools statewide is to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), now that Maryland has a case of community-spread COVID-19, not linked to travel or contact with someone who traveled to an area affected by the pandemic.

We recognize that our community will have many questions upon receiving this announcement.

We will follow up tomorrow (Friday, March 13, 2020) with a link to updated answers to frequently asked questions.

Meanwhile we recommend that you visit the reliable sources for information about COVID-19 symptoms, prevention and updates.

FCPS is determining how this closure will affect all staff, and we will share that information as soon as possible.
