FCPS Renews Partnership with Girl Scout Council

Frederick County Public Schools renewed its partnership with the Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital (GSCNC) to promote anti-bullying and leadership programs. The GSCNC will deliver the Be Amazing program, which includes the Be a Friend First (BFF) bullying-prevention initiative, through six- to eight-week sessions for middle school students. GSCNC will cover participants’ annual cost of Girl Scout membership and will provide program supplies, training and leadership. FCPS will facilitate enrollment and provide meeting space and a staff member to be present during the sessions. In addition to the BFF anti-bullying program, the GSCNC will teach leadership skills and goal setting and promote self-esteem.
