May 2022 is our next the open enrollment period during which eligible employees can change insurance coverage and enroll or re-enroll in the Flexible Spending Account (FSA) program. The FCPS benefit year is from July 1 through June 30. Elections made in May of 2022 will become effective July 1, 2022. Please see the Life Events page to learn about qualifying events that allow you to make changes to your coverage outside of open enrollment
"Passive" Open Enrollment
A passive open enrollment will occur for your medical, dental, short-term disability and optional life coverage during open enrollment. This means that employees who do not wish to make any changes to their current elections will have no changes to their coverage and it will automatically renew for the 2022/2023 plan year. For employees wishing to enroll, add dependents, or waive their coverage, you must sign on to employee self-service and elect, change or waive the coverage you desire. Flexible Spending (FSA), medical and dependent care, is NOT passive and requires employees to re-enroll each year. If you miss the open enrollment deadline for FSA, you will not have the benefit for the new plan year.
