Award Programs
FCPS coordinates several award programs throughout the year. Many of these programs are sponsored by outside organizations, which establish eligibility criteria and the award process. For each program, FCPS calls for nominations through various communication channels, receives nominations and convenes selection committees.

Additional Awards
Recognition tied to organizational goals and values reinforces the behaviors and achievements that contribute to the success of the school system. In addition, recognized employees are also more likely to recommend their workplace to others and incorporating a well-rounded employee recognition program can lead to a happier, more engaged workforce, improved retention rates, and a positive impact on work culture.
The Guiding Star Award (Employee Use Only)The FCPS Guiding Star Award is designed to provide recognition by employees to one another for excellence in one of the 5 FCPS goals.

5 Star Service Award (Community Use)The 5-Star Service Award is for community use in recognizing FCPS employees who show excellence in one of the 5 FCPS goals. Community members are welcome to nominate any worthy FCPS employee.
