FCPS Branding Guidelines

Inspire, Motivate, Innovate

For more than two decades, Frederick County Public Schools has proudly shared a blue logo with a gold star.

The star rises above our initials, and as it does so reflects our school system mission: By graduation, students will be ready for success in college and career.

Sometimes, in the Department of Public Affairs we get questions about our logo. Are we planning a redesign? We are not. We are proud of our system’s mark — one that is recognizable to anyone who has spent time in the halls of our schools or buildings for over 25 years.

We want our logo displayed to show the strength of our community, and we want it displayed the proper way. In this Branding Guidelines document, our Media Arts team is proud to share best practices for displaying the FCPS logo, listing our preferred color palettes, preferred fonts, and offering guidelines for any project you may be working on.

In graphic design, consistency is key. As we strive for operational excellence, it is vital to use the same logo and use it appropriately. As our logo has undergone small iterations through the years, and we want to use this document to codify these changes and to ensure our community knows what our official logo is and where it can be found.

In the Department of Public Affairs we are focused on our school system’s clear and consistent communication. It is our hope that you will join us on our mission.
