Signing Up for SchoolMessenger

For Anyone Interested in Receiving FCPS and/or School Updates

Frederick County Public Schools uses SchoolMessenger for email, text messages and automated phone calls.

Community members can sign up to receive SchoolMessenger updates. This step-by-step guide will show you how to quickly sign up to get messages!

Who can sign up

Anyone interested in receiving FCPS and/or school updates. This can include family members not already signed up for messages and community members.

Who Does Not Need to Sign Up

All FCPS employees automatically receive messages to their work email address and contact information they have entered in via PeopleSoft.

All FCPS family members who are listed as a primary contact in our Student Information System do not need to sign up.

To sign up, individuals can follow the steps below.

STEP 1: Sign Up Now

Go to the URL https://asp.schoolmessenger.com/fcpss/subscriber

Click the Sign Up Now link.

STEP 2: Create a New Account

Enter your information to create your account. Check the Accept Terms box, and then click the Create Account button at the bottom of the page.

STEP 3: Activate Account

Step 3

Get the confirmation code from your email and paste it into the Confirmation Code text box. Enter your password and then click the Submit button.

STEP 4: Selecting Your Interests

The next step you will select all of the areas that you are interested in receiving updates and notifications for including schools, Board updates, employment info,
inclement weather and which language you prefer to receive messages in. Then click the Save button.

STEP 5: Adding Phone Numbers for Calls and Texts (Optional)

You can also add phone numbers to receive phone calls and text messages from FCPS. Under your account’s Contact Info tab in the Contacts box, click the Add More button.

Select the radio button for what type of messages you would like to receive. Then click the Next button.

Enter your phone number, then click the Next button.

Follow the instructions on the last screen to complete setting up your phone/text settings. You have to complete this step within 24 hours for your phone to be added to your account.
