Parent-Teacher Conferences Are Coming Soon

Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) invites parents of elementary and middle school students to parent-teacher conferences in October.

Wednesday, October 23 and Thursday, October 24, elementary and middle schools will open four hours late, and teachers will hold evening conferences with parents. Students should eat lunch before coming to school. Students enrolled in half-day pre-kindergarten programs will not have school. High schools are open the full day.

Friday, October 25, elementary and middle schools will dismiss students 3.5 hours early for afternoon parent-teacher conferences. Students will eat lunch at school before dismissal. Students enrolled in half-day pre-kindergarten programs will not have school. High schools are open the full day.

FCPS urges parents of elementary and middle school students to schedule conferences for the above dates to learn about their child’s classroom, school performance and behavior. Conferences help parents and teachers work together to support the student.

There are no prescheduled conference dates at high schools. The Board of Education encourages parents of high school students to contact the teacher any time they have a concern or wish to schedule a meeting.

Schedules may vary at charter schools.

For information about how to schedule a conference at your child’s school, stay tuned for messages from your child’s principal or contact the school.
