Schools Closed for 2 Weeks, through Friday, March 27

Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) is following State Superintendent Dr. Karen B. Salmon's directive to close all Maryland schools Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27, 2020.

The purpose of closing schools statewide is to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), now that Maryland has a case of community-spread COVID-19, not linked to travel or contact with someone who traveled to an area affected by the pandemic.

FCPS recognizes that the community will have many questions upon receiving this announcement. The school system will post updated answers to frequently asked questions online at [outdated information removed.] Meanwhile the school system asks the community to visit the reliable sources for information about COVID-19 symptoms, prevention and updates posted there.
