FCPS Partners with Brook Lane Behavioral Services

Frederick County Public Schools’ (FCPS) Student Services Director Dana Falls signed a memorandum of understanding this month with Brook Lane Behavioral Health Services, Inc. CEO R. Lynn Rushing to provide teaching services to support Brook Lane’s Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP).

FCPS agreed to hire, pay and supervise a hospital teacher to tutor to all students enrolled in the program. The tutoring will focus on core academic subjects, based upon work the school has provided the child’s parent.

PHP will provide office essentials and tutoring space. PHP will also staff each tutoring session with at least one mental health associate and will validate attendance.

FCPS and PHP will regularly collaborate with the designated FCPS Community Agency School Services (CASS) coordinator, FCPS pupil personnel worker and PHP representative to address logistical concerns and planning. Falls and Brook Lane Behavioral Services Director of Educational Services Kate Byers will administer the agreement.
