FCPS Partners with A Mother's Rest

The newest Frederick County Public Schools’ partner, A Mother’s Rest, is a respite care provider committed to the proactive healthcare of special needs parents and caregivers even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Andrea Faris Roberts, the provider’s founder and executive director, “A Mother's Rest is grateful for the opportunity to partner with FCPS in an effort to ensure that all Frederick County Public Schools’ parents and caregivers are aware of our respite inn. Not only do we serve parents whose children have disabilities or chronic health complications, but we also host special educators, all adoptive and foster parents, military spouses, and those caring for their own ill spouses or aging parents."

FCPS Special Education Instruction and Student Performance Director Michelle Concepcion quoted Michelle Obama: “To be a good parent, you need to take care of yourself so that you can have the physical and emotional energy to take care of your family.” Concepcion added that “A Mother’s Rest is a wonderful place for mothers and caregivers to decompress in a therapeutic environment and restore yourself so that you can give the best of you.”
