Election Day November 3 Is a Non-School Day

The Board of Education of Frederick County announced at its regular meeting this afternoon that Tuesday, November 3 will revert back to a non-school day, as originally planned and printed in the FCPS Calendar Handbook. On August 5, the Board had announced its intent for FCPS students to have instruction that day, as the school system is operating in a full virtual mode. The Maryland State Department of Education, however, did not approve the request for local schools to be in session on Election Day. The Board announced that FCPS will extend the school year by one day to provide the 180-day school year for students.

FCPS will update the online calendars at www.fcps.org/calendar.
