FCPS Seeks Feedback on FY22 Budget Priorities

Frederick County Public Schools seeks feedback at a Community Budget Forum on next year’s school system operating budget, fiscal year (FY) 2022. Community feedback allows FCPS to make the best decisions for students.

The event will take place at a forum on Wednesday, December 2, from 7-8 p.m. It will be broadcast live on FCPS TV (Channel 18) and streamed at www.fcps.org/tv. During the forum, the community can provide feedback by calling 301-696-6966 for English or 240-236-8769 for Spanish. Questions can also be sent before the forum to FCPS.budget@fcps.org.

At this point in the budget process, Superintendent Dr. Terry Alban is continuing to gather feedback to prepare her recommended FY22 budget, which FCPS will share with the public Monday, January 11.

The BOE will hold several work sessions and discussions regarding the budget and plans a public hearing for Wednesday, February 3. The Board is scheduled to approve the budget on Wednesday, February 10, and forward it to the County. The Board will hold additional budget discussions as needed throughout April and May. Final budget approval is scheduled for June 9. The budget will take effect July 1, 2021. FCPS has posted the budget calendar timeline online at www.fcps.org/budget.
