FCPS Resumes Free Meals Program on February 16

The FCPS free meals program will resume Tuesday, February 16, for all students in school buildings on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. All meals will be individually wrapped or compartmentalized. Free breakfasts and lunches will be available to children in cohort A on Mondays and Tuesdays and to children in cohort B on Thursdays and Fridays. On days when students are learning in a school building, they may also take a free, to-go meal for supper that same day.

Also, FCPS encourages families who want meals for the days when students are not in school buildings (virtual days, weekends, holidays) to pick up additional food at the child’s school on a day when they are learning in the building, or visit one of the open community sites listed below on Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This outreach will begin Wednesday, February 17, at the following schools:

Elementary Schools: Ballenger Creek, Brunswick, Butterfly Ridge, Centerville, Deer Crossing, Emmitsburg, Hillcrest, Liberty, Lincoln, Monocacy, Myersville, New Market, Oakdale, Spring Ridge, Sugarloaf, Twin Ridge, Waverley, Whittier

Middle Schools: Thurmont, Windsor Knolls

High Schools: Gov. Thomas Johnson, Middletown, Walkersville

*Note: Children do not need to be present to pick up meals on Wednesdays and Fridays. A parent or other adult may pick up these meals for them. Also, the child does not have to be enrolled at the school.
