FCPS Seeks Feedback at Community Budget Forum

Frederick County Public Schools seeks feedback at a Community Budget Forum on next year’s school system operating budget, fiscal year (FY) 2023.

Community feedback allows FCPS to make the best decisions for students. The forum will take place on Wednesday, December 1, from 7-8 p.m. The meeting will be in-person at the FCPS Board Room, 191 S. East St., Frederick. Up to 50 guests will be permitted to attend on a first-come basis.

At this point in the budget process, Superintendent Dr. Terry Alban is continuing to gather feedback to prepare her recommended FY23 budget, which FCPS will share with the public Monday, January 10.

The BOE will hold several work sessions and discussions regarding the budget and a public hearing on Wednesday, February 2. The Board Requested budget is scheduled to be approved Wednesday, February 9, and forwarded to the County. The Board will hold additional budget discussions as needed throughout April and May. Final budget approval is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22. The budget will take effect Friday, July 1, 2022.
