Student Member of the Board of Education

Five talented and accomplished Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) students are in the running to become the next Student Member of the Board of Education of Frederick County. These students have been chosen through a vetting process by the Frederick County Association of Student Councils (FCASC) and advisors of the local Student Government Association.

The five candidates and links to their candidate forum presentations are listed alphabetically below:

Zachary Davis, a junior at Linganore Hgh School.

Sofia Driver, a junior at Frederick High School.

Brooke Lieberman, a sophomore at Urbana High School.

Michael Olson, a junior at Middletown High School.

Ishaan Srivastava, a junior at Urbana High School.

A candidates’ forum was held on January 5, 2023; candidates shared their vision for the position and discussed how they would represent students in FCPS. Online voting has begun and is open to FCPS middle and high school students. The popular vote at each school will determine who the school’s electors will cast their ballots for in the Electoral College during the February 9, 2023, Frederick County Association of Student Councils’ General Assembly.
