Elementary Honors Chorus to Perform
Public invited Wednesday, May 3, at the Weinberg Center for the Arts

Frederick, MD (April 25, 2023) – The Frederick County Public Schools Elementary Honors Chorus makes the Weinberg Center for the Arts the place to be on Wednesday, May 3, at 7 p.m. Tickets for this 36th annual event, sold in advance at GoFan.co, are available via this link.

Tickets are $6 for adults and $2 for students (fees apply); senior citizens ages 60 and above are admitted free with ID, along with FCPS employees with badge. Ticket prices support the arts in Frederick County Public Schools.

Each public elementary school in the county is represented. The chorus is composed of fifth graders who were selected through an audition process.

The guest conductor for the concert is Ann DuBose-Li. Green Valley Elementary music teacher Amy Deavers and Valley Elementary music teacher Jessica Blood will serve as accompanists.

“It’s remarkable to watch 120 of our finest young vocalists arrive from across Frederick County, never having met, to rehearse and perform within 36 hours,” FCPS elementary curriculum arts specialist Susan Thomas said. “Our students’ voices are a powerful inspiration to lift the audience’s spirits. As always, we expect the house to be packed with proud families and friends of the arts.”
