Walkersville High’s Nikole Ramsay named FCPS School Counselor of the Year
Frederick, MD – Walkersville High’s Nikole Ramsay, described as attentive and responsive to student needs, is the 2025 FCPS School Counselor of the Year.
This recognition is presented annually by the Frederick County School Counselor Association.
Ramsay has served as an FCPS school counselor for 20 years. She is a National Board Certified Counselor who has worked tirelessly on counseling curriculum writing. She has also supervised school counseling interns and supported the Community Foundation of Frederick County with scholarships for graduating seniors.
Ramsay has also served on the FCSCA Board of Directors.
Walkersville High Principal Dr. Stephanie Ware said that Ramsay is an asset to the school and the community and that the bonds she builds with students and families benefits all.
A student who nominated Ramsay said she has passion for her vocation and has a way of life that puts her in the center of the Walkersville community – treating all the students like one of her own.
Ramsay was recognized at a special FCSCA event at Brewer’s Alley on May 21 and given a plaque in recognition for her service, dedication, and commitment to students within FCPS.
