Graduates from the Frederick Community College Early College Program
Last week, a record 44 students graduated from the Frederick Community College Early College Program.
The students took part in a ceremony at FCC on May 21 and are participating in their own high school graduations this week – the byproduct of simultaneously earning a high school diploma and an associate degree from FCC.
This was the fourth class in the Early College Program and the most students to earn a diploma and an associate degree. Last year, 25 students completed the program. Two years ago, 20 students completed the program. The first Early College class in 2021-22 had 15 students.
Each FCPS high school had students who completed the Early College Program.
“I am pleased to see how quickly this program has grown and how many students worked so hard to take advantage of this opportunity,” FCPS Superintendent Dr. Cheryl L. Dyson said. “They have a head start on their bright futures, and we look forward to seeing what they do next.”
The Early College Program allows students to attend FCC during their junior and senior years as full-time undergraduate students. They follow the FCC academic calendar, with options to take day, evening, online and weekend courses.
