MSDE Course Offerings

The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) approves and authorizes the use of certain professional learning opportunities for certificate renewal and certificate advancement through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) or MSDE credits. Educators must earn at least six credits every five years in order to renew their teaching certificate. Renewal credits may be MSDE CPD credits, graduate credits, or a combination of the two.
We offer traditional MSDE CPD courses during the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters that are open to current certificated staff as well as educators from outside of FCPS. Due to technology limitations, we cannot accept international participants. In addition, we offer many other avenues for educators to earn MSDE CPD credit through instructional activities, book studies, action research, leadership roles, and professional publications. Our team strives to support and serve our educational community by providing varied, flexible, and responsive learning experiences to meet the needs of the adult learner.
