ELITE Vision
We are building the premier leadership development program in the world, where current and future education leaders are inspired to embody innovative, equity-focused, and research informed leadership practices.
ELITE Mission
We exist to develop a comprehensive professional development system that prepares visionary and transformational leaders to serve students, staff, and communities of Frederick County Public Schools.
ELITE Academy. The ELITE Academy is designed to support aspiring school-based administrators who would like to better prepare themselves for the assistant principal role beyond the internship experience. The Academy is designed to advance aspiring administrators through FCPS-specific practical training. Guided by the Professional Standards for Educational Leaders (PSEL, 2015) and the FCPS Aspirational Goals, the ELITE Academy aims to promote extraordinary leadership practices.
ELITE Aspire. The ELITE Aspire program is designed to support aspiring principals who are looking to prepare themselves for the role of a building’s lead administrator. Aspire participants serve as mentors to the Academy members and participate in differentiated leadership experiences.
ELITE Amplify. The ELITE Amplify program focuses on building teacher leadership capacity in school-based instructional leaders to increase their influence in our school system. The Amplify program nurtures teacher confidence and creates a community of practice. Teacher leaders are empowered to be change agents -- not only in their classrooms, but throughout the school and district.
ELITE Immersion. Exceptional Leaders Innovating and Transforming Education (ELITE) Immersion is an experiential learning program created to prepare future administrators for their role in FCPS. Participants in the Immersion program are selected to spend a year in an assistant principal residency with the support of a principal mentor and a central office mentor. In addition, the resident participates in intensive course work designed to cultivate the necessary skills and knowledge to support and champion the FCPS aspirational goals and priorities.
