Home School Review Information
The purpose of a review is for families to report on the required topics of study (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, PE, Electives), curriculum, online programs, course selections and other pertinent information describing what your child is/has/will be completing through the course or each semester.
REVIEW DUE DATE: May 15, 2023
All review materials must be received by May 15, 2023. SImply choose one of the review options below and submit review materials no later than May 15, 2023. We strongly recommend that you submit your review materials anytime, and as soon as possible, before May 15, 2023. All review materials should be emailed to portfolioreviews@fcps.org with the student’s full name in the subject line.

Review Options
Option 1: Google Portfolio Form/Formulario de cartera de Google
When you use the Google Portfolio Form/Formulario de cartera de Google a copy of your completed form will automaticly be sent to portfolioreviews@fcps.org with your students’ name in the subject line. In addition, you will automatically receive an emailed copy of your review submission. If you do not receive a copy please let us know.
Option 2: Semester Portfolio Summary Review and Learning Plan
Email/scan/mail a completed Semester Portfolio Review Summary Lessen Plan / Resumen de la revisión de la cartera del semestre Plan de reducción form. Simply click to access and download this form. All review materials should be emailed to portfolioreviews@fcps.org with the student’s full name in the subject line. Option 3: Transcripts/Grade Reports
Email/scan/mail a copy of a transcript/grade report/progress report which you have received from the organization, college, on-line program, and/or co-op (i.e. Penn Foster, Liberty, Keystone, ABEKA, CC., etc.) your child is working with. All review materials should be emailed to portfolioreviews@fcps.org with the student’s full name in the subject line.

Option 4: Digital Portfolio - Work Samples
Email/scan/mail samples of your student’s work for each required subject (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, Music, PE, Electives). Please, send no more than 3-5 work samples per subject. Work samples should be formatted as jpegs, docs or pdfs. All review materials should be emailed to portfolioreviews@fcps.org with the student’s full name in the subject line. Sample digital portfolio
Option 5: GED
Email/scan/mail review materials (the Name of GED program/ book, etc. that your child is using to prepare for the GED. You can easily send this information using Option 1 or 2 above.
Option 6: Virtual Review
Appointments for virtual reviews are made by parents/guardians using the electronic platform Sign-Up Genius and virtual meetings are hosted through Google Meet. The Sign-Up Genius appointment scheduling system will accept appointment requests until April 19, 2023. Families should schedule one appointment per child. Once you have scheduled and finalized your appointment selection, you will recieve a confirmation email with the details of your selected meeting.
Families who sign up for a virtual review will receive a Google meet link the day before their scheduled appointment. Prior to your appointment, you have the option of filling out an electronic portfolio review form (Options 1 & 2 above) which can be discussed during the scheduled virtual meeting.

Option 7: In-Person (Library) Review:
In-Person Reviews will be offered on a first come first serve basis at the library locations and times listed below. When you arrive for your in-person review, please ask the librarian for the location of the Home School Monitor.

WHAT IF NONE OF THE REVIEW OPTIONS ABOVE WORKS FOR ME:
If none of the options above works for your family, please contact the home instruction office at homeinstruction@fcps.org as soon as possible.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER I HAVE SUBMITTED MY REVIEW MATERIALS:
You will receive a response from our office and be removed from subsequent Review Reminder emails which will be sent in the future.
WHAT IF I HAVE NOT COMPLIED WITH THE REVIEW REQUIREMENT BY MAY 15, 2023:
Families that have not complied by this review due date will be notified of their non-compliance status and will be referred to the Pupil Personnel Worker assigned to their childs school.
