David Bass was elected to the Board of Education in November 2020 for a four-year term, beginning December 2020.

Mr. Bass has worked as a special education teacher at the middle and high school levels and as a habilitation specialist for a nonprofit serving people with developmental disabilities. For the past five years, Mr. Bass has worked in higher education. He has coordinated a University Testing Center and has led Jewish Life initiatives at York College of Pennsylvania and Gettysburg College. Mr. Bass currently serves as a Learning Specialist at Mount St. Mary's University.

Mr. Bass earned a Bachelor's Degree in history and Africana Studies from Binghamton University. He also holds a Masters in Teaching Students with Disabilities from The City College of New York (CCNY) and a Masters Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Binghamton University.

Mr. Bass is active in the community. He serves on the Board of Trustees for Congregation Kol Ami and teaches in their Religious School. He is a member of the NAACP and the AARCH Society. Bass volunteers and is involved with several community organizations including the RISE coalition and SHIP of Frederick County.

Bass lives with his husband Tom and his cat, Shea.
