Board of Education Meetings

Important Update regarding Communicating with the Board

The Board of Education of Frederick County has adopted Policy 102: Meetings, which will establish the framework and public engagement opportunities governing Board meetings moving forward. This policy outlines many ways the community can provide valuable feedback to the Board. We have shared those changes in this Board update.

Public Meetings

The Board of Education holds regular public meetings throughout the year, typically at 191 South East Street, Frederick. The Board welcomes citizens at these sessions, Board of Education committee meetings, and other forums concerning education matters of community interest.   Some meetings may be closed to the public if they concern confidential matters. Maryland law restricts the Board’s ability to meet in closed session, and the Board strives to keep meetings as open as possible. Starting times for meetings and agenda items are approximate.
