Biography
Colt Black was elected to the Board of Education in December 2024 for a four-year term, December 2024-2028.
Colt Black is a lifelong Frederick County resident. Graduating from the American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service in New York City in 2009, with an Associate of Occupational Studies specializing in Funeral Service.
Colt is a licensed Maryland Mortician, Pennsylvania Funeral Director, West Virginia and District of Columbia Funeral Courtesy Card holder, and is the owner of Black's Funeral Home & the Acacia Society both located in Sabillasville.
He is a firefighter/Emergency Medical Technician with multiple public safety credentials from the University of Maryland Fire Rescue Institute (MFRI).
He is active in community service as a member of the Acacia Lodge #155 Ancient Free & Accepted Masons of Thurmont, Frederick Valley of the Scottish Rite, Hanover Chapter 310 of the Holy Royal Arch & Ali Ghan Shriners of Cumberland. He is married to his beloved wife, Michaela, and has three children.
