Dr. Markoe developed the following principles to help foster servant-leaders and their pursuit to put the needs of others first and to help them perform to the highest degree possible:

  • Simplify everything while reinforcing the basics.
  • Search for the story behind the person.
  • See the future while staying in the moment.
  • Surrender personal agendas and egos.
  • Strengthen relationships.
  • Stretch the organization and the status quo.
  • Seek knowledge, but more importantly, wisdom.
  • Steward leaders to change the world.

“I believe the bottom line in leadership isn’t how far we advance ourselves, but how far we advance others. That is achieved by serving others and adding value to their lives.”

-John Maxwell
