Brunswick High School Feasibility Study

FCPS will begin a feasibility study in January 2019 to determine the best way to modernize and expand Brunswick High School. The purpose of the study is to identify school renovation needs, additional space needs, options for meeting the needs, and estimated costs for each option. The study is expected to take five months and there will be opportunities for community members to participate throughout the study.
During the feasibility study, staff will work with a consultant to consider several options:
- Renovating the existing school, or
- Additions and renovation.
Feasibility Study Process
This study is the first step in the process to modernize and expand Brunswick High School. The feasibility study will start in January 2019 and conclude in June 2019. All feasibility study meetings are open to the public. Information about feasibility study meetings and community meetings can be found on the Meetings page of this project’s web page.
In order to determine the best way to modernize Brunswick High School, the team will consider the existing building’s physical condition, the building’s ability to provide space for our current educational programs and the community’s vision for the school. The architecture consultant team will provide conceptual layouts for all the options considered and the community will have opportunities to provide feedback.

Once the feasibility study is completed, the next steps are design and construction. The proposed timeline for the project is shown below, contingent on funding from the State and County.
