Feasibility Study Process
FCPS will begin a feasibility study in May 2022 to determine the best way to modernize and meet capacity needs at Yellow Springs Elementary School. The purpose of the study is to identify school facility renovation and additional space needs and estimated costs for each option.
FCPS has engaged Proffitt & Associates to lead the team in the feasibility study. The feasibility study will start in May 2022 and conclude in fall 2022. The team will consider the existing building’s physical condition and the ability to provide space for our current educational programs within the existing buildings.
During the feasibility study, staff will work with a consultant to consider several options for the building:
- renovate the current building,
- renovate and expand the current building,
- replace the current building with a new building on the existing site
- replace the current building with a new building on a future school site nearby.
It is anticipated that the Board of Education will review the final study and recommendations in fall 2022.
